H. Mae Scott

Mae Scott lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her family. Her interests related to this book topic are teaching, reading, continual education, family dynamics, and child development. Mae earned a BA from University of Delaware in Psychology with concentrations in Child Development, Communications, and Design. She completed her Lactation Consultant Education and Internship at Novant’s Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has been a member of the International Board of Lactation Consultants for 10 years, and is a certified IBCLC. She was an educator for Novant’s Presbyterian Hospitals, Women’s Health Education Department in Charlotte, North Carolina. There she taught Lactation and both premature and full-term Infant Massage. She also worked for Inova Hospital System near Washington, D.C. teaching Lactation and Infant Massage. Her previous career as a Dental Hygienist, R.D.H. gave her knowledge and insight into how oral anatomy and function influences breastfeeding. Combining her education and experiences, she hopes her writing will make a positive impact in many lives.
